The
Forrest maple appears to be one of the "snake bark maples. The pictures on the
left show the spring and
summer habit of a Acer forrestii located near Parking

Trunk
and bark of Forrest maple. The trunk of this tree has characteristics that lead
me to believe that this is one of the "Snake bark maples". 
In this
photo of a Forrest maple you can see the newly emerging leaves and flowers which
are green. The flowers are very similar to those of
Acer tegmentosum, which is more
commonly known as the Manchurian striped maple. These pictures were taken in
early April.

The leaves, like the
flowers and bark of the Forrest maple or Forrest's maple are similar to Acer
