17 Year Cicadas - June 2007
Trees were sometimes covered with cicada. This was a very windy day, but they were able to tightly hang on. Sometimes they hung on to my clothes and hair.
I don't know if this cicada came from the exoskeleton that is beside it, but they make an interesting pair.
Cicadas aren't harmful to people, but they are annoying. They don't damage mature trees,
but can be harmful to young trees. Some protection can be offered by netting the trees.
The sound is fairly accurate, but not quite as loud as in real life. The movie is poor,
but look closely to see what I was trying to photograph.
